There is a new generation of rabbits living in the Bruneau sand dune desert near Boise, Idaho. Miracles happen. Magic water and the new digital frequency enable the rabbits to grow tall and speak perfect English. Mr. Mayor, a flashy dressed six- feet-tall character, watches over his town and residents of New Jack Rabbit City. When an egotistical Chicago hare gangster named Caponey comes to town to drink up the magic water, grow big, and head back to Chicago to rule the alleyways, Mr. Mayor must deal with him and the rest of the South-Sider gang. A greedy cattle rancher and a couple cowboys stir up trouble, too, when they drive a tanker in to "suck the magic spring dry," so all the cows can become giant-size and bring in more profits. So it's up to the Mayor and all of his helpers to save the day. Thanks to Abby, an inquisitive eight year old, a human family stumbles across N.J.R.C., too. When Abby leads her Uncle Mike, brother, Zach, and their two dogs, Eggy and Nasty, to meet the Mayor, magical days and altered realities happen. They can't believe what a difference a day makes! It's a wonderland tale, one for the storybooks. Let the human family who lived the adventure share it with you. Welcome to New Jack Rabbit City!

Do you believe in magic? If you don't, after you read this book, you will. It is a whimsical story, a parable about animals that is directly related to humans. Filled with charming poetry, it is a book for the young at heart of all ages and will make you smile and nod affirmatively at the metaphors about the human condition related through the mouths and actions of the hares in this story.

Some giant rabbits are six feet tall and can remain invisible at will, allowing them to decide when to reveal their presence. Children will love the eight year old heroine, Abby, and her older brother, Zach, who is twelve. Abby is razor smart and often leaves her brother bemused but proud, as is the narrator, Mike, their uncle.

It seems that these hares have stumbled onto a kind of enchanted spring in the wilds of Idaho. The knowledge of that water and its ingestion makes them grow ever taller, perhaps reaching a height of six feet, or more. They are also tuned into a digital frequency that allows them to talk with ease.

Travel with the six foot, wise mayor of New Jack Rabbit City as he tackles all manner of problems and manages to solve them. There is a lot of tongue in cheek in the names given the characters who parade through the book. Some of them are benevolent, others are not, but in the end, after an exciting race between dogs and hares, all is well.

There is a happy ending for everyone. I totally recommend this book this book for fun and reflection.

Fantastic story great art work enjoyable by grand kids and grandparents. Buy it and read it with your kids or grand kids or both.
Fun to read about Idaho and places I have visited. Incredibly creative story set in the high desert of Idaho. Fantastic art work. Great read for all ages, including my grandchildren. Love the epilogue. Keep writing more chapters about Nasty and Eggy... This should be made into a movie!
